Effect of antagonistic bacteria and its formulation to control fusarium wilt disease on shallot

Biocontrol of pathogenic fungi using antagonistic bacteria isolated from the soil (rhizosphere) is expected to suppress plant diseases obtain good quality yield, and thus support sustainable agriculture. The study aimed formulate scale up production rhizosphere-based bacterial biopesticides that effective in suppressing onset Fusarium wilt disease caused by oxysporum f.sp. cepae on shallot. experiment evaluate effectiveness biocontrol agents against was carried out employing shallot cv. ‘bima curut’ field (Patrol-Indramayu,West Java), May August 2018 growing season. experimental plot 1.20 m x 18 m, prepared spacing 15 × 10 cm. solid formulation kaolin-based (containing cells 109 CFU/mL) applied with variation four concentrations range 0.3125 2.5 mL/L. arranged randomized block design replications. Shallot beginning at 30 days old-plant sprayed three times one-week intervals. results showed intensity significantly lower than control. Under natural infection, spraying application a isolate (DSB2) kaolin (107 formula concentration 1.25 mL/L could reduce intensity. Tuber yield treatments higher Thus, use as environmental-friendly agent this might be further recommended controlling shallots.
